Where You Can Donate Towards the Hurricane Harvey Relief

Over the past several days, Hurricane Harvey has torn through Gulf Coast Texas and Coastal Louisiana. Particularly hard hit was the Houston metropolitan region and Port Arthur/Beaumont, Texas. Hurricane Harvey has caused record flooding for the region and will go down in history as one of largest flood producing storms in the U.S. Thousands have been displaced—many losing their homes and irreplaceable mementos. Unfortunately, some have even lost their lives.

Of no surprise to my hometown of Houston and the many regions affected, we have a long stretch ahead of us towards recovery. The journey of recovery and restoration will be a marathon, not a sprint. But one thing I love about being a Texan is that we have always been #TexasStrong. And, nothing can ever change that! Beauty can be found in even our ugliest of times. The way that communities across America have pulled together to join rescue operations, donate money and goods, and volunteer at shelters has been incredible. No matter how strong we may be, we will need the help of others to rebuild!

Therefore, I want to use my platform to encourage you to consider donating locally towards Hurricane Harvey Relief efforts. I compiled a list of organizations by causes for you to consider.
